Reception/Patient Services Posted or Updated on 15 Nov 2023

Over the coming months we will be making improvements to our reception/patient services.

This includes the introduction of a ‘Patient Self Check in System’ so that you will not have to queue at the reception desk to check-in for your appointment.  There will be a designated area, separate from the front reception desk for patients to use.

Recruitment of a General Practitioner (GP) – We have a new salaried GP joining us at the end of October to increase capacity for patients.

Care Navigation – our reception staff will continue to use the care navigation system so that they can direct you to the appropriate clinician.  We now have access to physiotherapists, pharmacists, social prescribers, mental  health practitioner and Health and Wellbeing workers.  Therefore, please do not be discouraged when our reception staff ask what the problem is – they are merely trying to direct you to the correct service for your problem.

Telephone System – We know that it can be incredibly frustrating to get through to us via the telephone.  We have over the past 12 months doubled the capacity of incoming lines, but this does not seem to have alleviated patient concerns and frustrations.  Therefore, we are currently in the process of updating our telephone system which will include a ‘call back’ system; this means that you will not need to hold on but can select to be called back when a line becomes free.

Please bear with us during this transition and if you are calling for general queries or test results then please telephone us after 10.30 am.

We are encouraging patients to register for our online services where you can book appointments and order repeat medication.  Please register via our website or contact our reception.
